Entrepreneurial leader, Executive Coach, Public Speaker, Educator, Financial Consultant and Founder of The Tema Conter Memorial Trust

By 1988, Vince had been a paramedic for six years — racing to car wrecks, drug overdoses, heart attacks and fires. But nothing could prepare him for his rendezvous with Ms. Tema Conter.

He was the attending paramedic to Tema’s homicide.  This single incident set him down a road that many emergency responders travel, but are reluctant to talk about.

He couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, he didn't want to go to work and isolated himself from  family and friends.  He became paranoid about his wife's well-being and suffered anxiety attacks if she so much as left the house to pick up milk. He eventually quit his job as a paramedic and with counseling and time, these symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder subsided.

Never forgetting Tema, and wanting to give back to his fellow emergency services colleagues, Vince has been actively raising awareness of post-traumatic stress disorder. In 2001, and with the blessing of the Conter family, he established the Tema Conter Memorial Trust to honour Tema's memory and to improve our understanding of acute, cumulative and post-traumatic stress and the effects of these psychological stressors have on police officers, firefighters, paramedics and military personnel.
